Berlin - here we come!!!

I'm off again to the Hive conference in Berlin. We will be sightseeing, shopping, networking, and hopefully learning a whole lot more than we knew before. See you next week. Happy weekend and have fun!!!

Scandinavian on a Wednesday

Yes I'm a day early with my typical Scandie post, but as I am travelling to Berlin tomorrow, for some cool sightseeing, and then an even cooler conference #the HIVE - I shall be missing in action for the next 4 days (although I promise to tweet and instagram from the event as much as poss - so go and find me there please:)

ANYWAYS - this here is a fine example of the {usual} Scandinavian monochromatic style, that I (oddly being rather eclectic) am rather fond of at the moment. Very clean, white, with the usual suspects in classic danish design. I think this home does for quite handsome living. Though might I add, kids - could destroy the whiteness - so perhaps not for everyone:) LOVE ya - and leaving you for BERLIN. See you next week

Floral

A pretty, floral and romantic series of images, reminding me of Danish summer cottages, sunshine, long days, and cool evenings. A very different look than the cool, monochromatic Scandinavian style I usually covet, but lovely nonetheless.

PH05 lamp

Another design classic from Denmark - the PH05 lamp from Poul Henningsen. I have practically grown up with this, and must admit I am loving the fresh new colour palette. Happy Monday from me - we have another bank holiday - and a bit of sunshine:)

*Henningsen grew up in a small Danish town without electricity at the turn of the century, and wanted to recreate the soft gas lighting of his youth in his electric fixtures. The PH lamp is made with tiers of reflective painted metal bands designed to evenly distribute light, and minimize glare. The PH lamp was designed to fit into various places and spaces, and within a few years of the launch, the PH lamp was used everywhere from schools, to world class public institutions and in homes across Scandinavia* 

Corners of my Sunday

Yesterday was the hottest day of the year (and last I think) measuring a scorching 27 degrees celsius. We loved it, went for walks, picked blossom from a cherry tree and danced in the sunshine. Today is freezing and pouring with rain - OH well we are watching the Wizard of OZ. Happy weekend.
